REDD finance

Belum TemenggorProposed Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) project for parts of the Belum Temenggor forest complex to the Government of Perak in Malaysia. This methodology for generating carbon credits from protecting vulnerable forest habitats offers an alternative to current logging operations and creates funding for the proactive protection of endangered species from poaching. Belum Temengor is older than the Amazon and the Congo, and hosts some of the world's most endangered species including the Malaysian Tiger, Asiatic Elephant and Sumatran Rhino.

Bamboo Eco-Clusters

Batangas Feasibility study for three Philippine provinces (Aurora, Batangas, Tarlac) proved the viability of planting bamboo to produce biomass fuel and food. Bamboo chips replace fossil fuel with cost effective, low nitrogen, low sulphur carbon neutral biomass. At the same time quick growing bamboo replaces the use of wood for fuel, charcoal and building material to reverse massive deforestation. Each Eco-Cluster includes a bamboo shoot cannery, efficient charcoal facility and biomass gasifier for distributed power. In Batangas an offtake agreement was negotiated with S.U.R.E Inc for the bamboo chips.
